Cody Rhodes has been involved with the professional wrestling business his whole life, and he’s been an in-ring competitor for decades now. The American Nightmare has achieved his goal of becoming a top star in WWE, but as we all know, no one can last forever.
During a recent interview with WrestleTalk, Cody was asked what he learned from John Cena’s retirement tour, and he indicated that he will be hanging up his boots sooner than later.
“But I’ll say, it probably will happen sooner than later. And I’m not giving you any type of spoiler, time goes by. Time goes by like this. When my daughter is 11 years old, I’m not going to be falling down for a living anymore.
And I think one of the things that I really enjoyed about how John did it is the finality he brought to it. ‘I have given you everything. This is all I have, anything else wouldn’t be right.’ And when John says he will never wrestle again, he really means it. So that finality was beautiful.”
Currently Cody Rhodes is involved in a heated feud with Randy Orton on the SmackDown brand, which shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Outside the ring Cody has also been busy promoting the upcoming Street Fighter movie which releases on October 16th.
Stay tuned for updates.
