WrestleMania kicked off with night 1 on Saturday and Cody Rhodes successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the main event. Both men were busted open and shortly after the match WWE confirmed that Cody suffered an eye injury.
The company posted a graphic clip showing Cody getting checked out as his left eye was completely swollen shut following the WrestleMania 42 night 1 main event. Due to injury he suffered at WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes has been pulled from his scheduled appearance at WWE World. Fans on social media confirmed that WWE sent out an email with the following announcement:
“Due to injuries sustained at WrestleMania Cody Rhodes is no longer able to make it to WWE World. Unfortunately this means your photo op and/or autograph have been canceled.”

In addition to the eye injury Pete Rosenberg noted during the WrestleMania post-show that Cody Rhodes could potentially be put into concussion protocol following his match on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Despite the fact that Cody Rhodes managed to retain the title it was Randy Orton who stood tall at the end of the show as he hit Cody with the Undisputed WWE Championship then followed up with the punt kick as WrestleMania went off the air.
