Last year Cody Rhodes won the 30 man Royal Rumble match and he went on to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39. Unfortunately for Cody he failed to defeat The Tribal Chief and he’s been trying to find a way to finish the story ever since.
Cody Rhodes is currently focused on winning the Royal Rumble for the second year in a row, but there’s a lot of speculation regarding how things will play out as The Rock has teased a potential match with Roman Reigns.
The American Nightmare recently told Bleacher Report that he doesn’t think The Rock would meddle with the story that’s being told. However, he indicated that he understands anything can happen.
“You mentioned ‘The Great One’ The Rock, nothing but respect for him. I went and saw ‘Jungle Cruise,’ I’m a Rock fan. I don’t think he’s the type that would come in and meddle with a story that’s been being told over the past two years. I think he’s probably up to something else, but you never know with WWE. I’ll be watching just like everybody else when I’m not wrestling.”
