Cody Rhodes has a pedigree for pro wrestling and he possesses an energy unlike many in the pro wrestling business. This is why he captured the ROH World Championship and carried it like he belonged with the title. But ROH Final Battle turned out to be a huge night for not only the ROH World Championship but also for Cody’s hair.
Before Final Battle, Cody revealed the new ROH World Championship title and it’s a beauty of a belt. The five-plated championship title is one that anyone would be proud to carry.
But it turns out Cody Rhodes wouldn’t get to hold this championship for long before putting it up for grabs against Dalton Castle.
During his entrance, Cody Rhodes wore all white with a cloak and hood over his head. His wife Brandi Rhodes led the way carrying the new ROH World Championship. But when Cody lifted his hood, he revealed a new look for himself because Cody’s usual brown hair was now dyed a very bright blonde.
The match that followed was breathtaking in many respects as they told a great story in the ring. Castle fought hard to prove himself worthy to face Cody and Rhodes did the same to prove he could carry the ROH World Championship.
There was even a spot where Brandi Rhodes hit a top rope splash on Castle’s Boys causing the referee to eject everyone from ringside making this match a one-on-one contest once more.
Cody was also busted open after Castle pulled his head into the steel ring post while Rhodes was trying to crotch the flamboyant Castle. While the crimson flowed all over Cody’s face, he fought on but Dalton Castle kicked out of the Crossroads and soon after that it was all she wrote.
Dalton Castle hit the Bang-A-Rang and scored the pinfall, it was all over. Cody Rhodes lost the Ring Of Honor World Championship at Final Battle, but it was a loss he can be proud of.
