Cody Rhodes Comments On Controversial Undisputed WWE Title Match Finish At WWE Clash In Italy

The WWE Clash in Italy PLE aired live from Turin, Italy on Sunday and the show kicked off in a big way. Cody Rhodes defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Gunther, and it was Cody who ultimately retained the title.

However, the ending of the match was shrouded in controversy as Gunther had his foot under the ropes while the referee counted the pin. After the match Cody celebrated with the title while Gunther argued with the referee.

During the Clash in Italy post-show, Cody Rhodes addressed the controversial finish, and he also made it clear that he’s willing to put the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line again in a rematch against Gunther.

“I know you’re gonna ask me about it, and I know everyone saw it. I didn’t see it in the moment, I saw it in the replay. If Gunther wants a rematch. I’d do a rematch with Gunther right here, right now. And if anyone deserves one, you can throw all the pre-existing issues between us away, if anyone deserves one, he certainly deserves one. I understand a wins a win, but that’s not how you wanna do it. If he wants one, I’m here for it.”
