In 2014, CM Punk walked away from the professional wrestling business, but last year he made his big return when he debuted with All Elite Wrestling. Since then Punk has had quite the year and he even captured the AEW World Championship.

Unfortunately for CM Punk he lost the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley during a unification match on Dynamite earlier this week, but he recently told Sports Illustrated that he thinks Moxley is a guy who followed in his footsteps.

“I think Moxley is a guy who followed in my footsteps. He was a guy that was never really given the ball [in WWE]. When he was, it was taken away from him, time and time again, for other stars. I think he’s got a chip on his shoulder because he thinks the same thing’s happening to him again.”

CM Punk also commented on rumors that he’s unhappy in All Elite Wrestling, and he encouraged anyone who has issues with him to come and talk to him directly.

“It’s one side of the story. My locker room is never closed. It’s always open. Anybody who wants to DM [the Wrestling Observer’s Dave] Meltzer some bulls— can come talk to me about it. It’s not macho, stupid bulls—. I’m an adult. Come talk with me.”

Despite the fact that Jon Moxley got a decisive win over Punk on Dynamite it’s expected that they will face off in a rematch at All Out next weekend. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
