Sasha Banks and Naomi have been the talk of the wrestling world ever since they walked out of Monday Night Raw back in May. They’ve been getting a lot of attention due to the walkout which is something CM Punk can relate to.
CM Punk walked out of WWE back in 2014 and he stayed away from wrestling for 7 years before joining AEW in 2021. During a recent discussion with That Hashtag Show at San Diego Comic Con, CM Punk explained why he completely supports Sasha Banks and her decision to walk out.
“My thing is, I can’t listen to people criticize me if I wouldn’t ask advice from them. You can’t lead people somewhere you’ve never gone. I try to be as humble as I can be, and I don’t like talking about myself, but I was the first guy through the wall. I got fucking bloodied for it. To watch somebody else stand up and walk out, I’m always going to support that, 100 f**king percent. I’ve never met Mercedes, I don’t know her, but I definitely feel solidarity with her. I know how that place is. I know how women are treated there. I’m not a woman myself, so I can’t put myself in those shoes, but there are probably a lot of reasons why she peaced out.”
Despite the fact that Sasha Banks and Naomi haven’t appeared on WWE programming in months it’s been reported recently that the expectation is they will return to the company at some point. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
