CM Punk is always a hot topic in the world of professional wrestling and a few weeks ago Tony Khan officially announced that CM Punk had been fired with cause. Punk’s contract with AEW has been terminated which has led to a lot of speculation about his future in wrestling.

After Tony Khan confirmed Punk’s AEW contract had been terminated people immediately started talking about the possibility of CM Punk returning to WWE. There was also a lot of talk about whether or not CM Punk has a non-compete clause and that seems to be the case.

On Friday night CM Punk worked as a commentator for Cage Fury Fighting Championships, and during the broadcast he joked that he has time on his hands for the next two months, which could indicate that Punk is waiting out a non-compete clause.

With Survivor Series set to take place at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL on November 25 fans on social media have been talking a lot about Punk possibly returning to WWE at the event, but it’s not known at this point in time if the company is interested in bringing him back.

WWE President Nick Khan was recently asked about a potential return for CM Punk, and while he didn’t indicate one way or another if the company would be open to that idea he did praise Punk for his WWE run.

“Listen, we only have respect for Phil. We appreciate his run here. We appreciate what he did and tried to do with the UFC. Not many people can actually get in there and do what he did. So, when we have respect for Phil, we wish him nothing but the best.”
