CM Punk has been a very hot topic as of late because it’s rumored that the former WWE Champion is AEW bound and that he will be making his in-ring return. Neither CM Punk nor AEW have confirmed the rumors, but neither side has denied them either.
AEW’s working relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling has allowed NJPW stars to make appearances on AEW programming, and KENTA recently took to Twitter to make it clear that he wants to face CM Punk.

CM Punk and KENTA seemingly have a natural feud they could potentially kick off as KENTA is the one who made the Go To Sleep finisher popular. Punk used the move for a number of years in WWE, so it will be interesting to see if the move gets used if he returns to the ring.
Punk last wrestled in 2014 when he competed in the men’s Royal Rumble match. It’s rumored that he could be debuting at one of the upcoming AEW events in Chicago. Stay tuned for updates.
