There are a lot of things in pro wrestling which will remain hidden from the majority of people for whatever reason. But a picture of Edge holding the NWA World Heavyweight Championship standing next to Christian holding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 2007 is one that needs to be released.
There was a five-day period of time in 2007 when Edge was WWE World Heavyweight Champion in WWE and Christian held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in TNA. This time between May 5th through the 13th was certainly an interesting time for Edgeheads and Peeps all over.
Christian recently discussed this span of time on E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness where he talked about how they discovered that they each had won top titles in their respective companies. He then went on to mention how they took the opportunity to snap a photo which really should see the light of day at this point.
“It was funny, I remember I was not gone long from WWE and I didn’t get the pay-per-view where [Edge cashed in his Money In The Bank contract]. And somebody called me and said, ‘Hey Adam just won’ and I didn’t even know. I was like, ‘oh my god that’s amazing.’ And I think [Edge and I] talked maybe the next day or something like that. But yeah, it was funny because not long after I won and from what I understand there was like a group flight somewhere and [Jonathan Coachman] I guess he looked on his phone or somebody called and told him and [Edge] was at baggage claim late one night and I think he said it to [Edge] he said, ‘hey our boy just won the NWA World Title’ or something like that.”
“Then going forward [Edge] came over to my place when [he] was living here in Tampa and we had kinda taken a picture — man it was way before if there was Twitter or something was around at this point it would have blown people’s minds — but we took a picture with each other’s title which was pretty funny.”
Edge sadly went on to say that they have the photo and “it’s not out there” but after 11 years, I think fans deserve to see this picture that reeks of awesomeness.
