Eddie Guerrero is a beloved figure in the world of professional wrestling and many people would agree that he was taken from this world far too soon. People often pay tribute to Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio did just that at WrestleMania 39 when he entered SoFi Stadium in a lowrider to the “Lie, Cheat & Steal” entrance music.

Chavo Guerrero recently turned a lot of heads during a virtual signing for Captain’s Corner when he seemingly took issue with the tribute and said, “thank you for keeping Eddie’s name alive, thank you for keeping the Guerrero name alive but we don’t need you, we’re good, you know what I’m saying?”

However, Chavo recently appeared on Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge and he explained that the comments were a work and he actually got in tough with Rey Mysterio to let him known he wasn’t really mad.

“After that was done, I said, ‘Now let me show you how this could really play out.’ I text Rey, I told him real quick, I said, ‘Hey, not real. It’s not real heat, I’m not mad, just a work.’ He jokingly text me back, he said, ‘Yeah, I was wondering, what did I ever do to him?’ and we had a little quick laugh about it. So I said, ‘Okay, anything I say from then on, just disregard it.”

“So I end up saying the next one. And now I laid into him a little bit, ‘You’re prostituting the [Guerrero] name. If you’re really doing it as a tribute, let’s show me and the fans how much of a tribute it really is. Instead of lining your pockets, why don’t we donate some of that money to charity? Better yet, donate it to Eddie’s daughters,’ who don’t make any royalties, by the way, off of Eddie.”
