Charlotte has had a very impressive run on the WWE main roster. She’s a one time WWE Divas Champion, a four time Raw Women’s Champion and she racked up an impressive record of 16 pay-per-view wins before she suffered her first defeat at the hands of Bayley at Fastlane.
Charlotte Flair’s pay-per-view streak isn’t something WWE intentionally planned, it’s just something that happened organically. During a recent appearance on the Jim Norton Show, Charlotte says that the streak wasn’t really something she thought about because it wasn’t designed by WWE creative.
“Two ways to look at it. Well, when I started people started being like ‘you have a pay-per-view streak going on’, I’m like ‘what?’ I was 16-0 which was weird, cause, I, it became 16, it was 16-0 then Cena won the 16 time… I, no, I don’t think they put anything into that, there was no thought put into that. No, but I was just, I kept racking up numbers. I’m like ‘well, you have a pay-per-view streak.’ So because I didn’t really think about it, I didn’t… it was more of a statistic than a story. When it happened… I just hope the equity of that went to Bayley. I hope that’s grasped. More of like ‘damn, that hugging lovable girl just ended that.'”
Charlotte also talked about how much her robes cost and Sam Roberts asked her if they’re in the ten thousand dollar range. The former Raw Women’s Champion didn’t specify an exact dollar amount, but she did note that they’ve very expensive.
“They’re not ten [thousand], but they’re… they’re pretty, they’re about… I’m like, ‘hold on I have to have one for every pay-per-view?’ dang, all my money’s going to these robes! But no, I really put a lot of money into them, but I know I’ll get my investment back one day.”
