Championship Match Might Be In Jeopardy

Last week Alexa Bliss laid down a challenge to the new Smackdown Women’s Champion, Naomi for a match on this week’s episode of Smackdown. Unfortunately there might not be a match for Naomi anytime soon according to recent rumors. Trinity Fatu was suspiciously absent from from the recent Smackdown house show tour and you can find our coverage of those events here, here, and also here.

Naomi still worked the house show after Elimination Chamber, but she didn’t do anything the next night on Smackdown Live.

The current SmackDown Women’s Champion is believed to be injured and her injury might keep her out of action for a minute or two. The extent of her injury isn’t known at this time, but as soon as something breaks, don’t worry because we’ll bring it to you as soon as we hear anything.

Naomi recently appeared on Lillian Garcia’s podcast and things did get a little deep at some points, but there was no mention of an injury.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with Naomi leading up to WrestleMania in April. It was recently reported that she won that title primarily because WWE wanted to feature a home-town girl at WrestleMania for Orlando’s local media. So, WWE will most likely do whatever they can to minimize Naomi’s work schedule and keep that injury hidden if it’s anything to worry about.

Recent rumors are that they will simply feature Naomi in a tag-match at the show of shows, but at this point there hasn’t been any momentum toward April 2nd’s big event in that regard. Therefore, only time will tell.
