For many years fans knew Brodie Lee as WWE Superstar Luke Harper, but the former Intercontinental Champion recently made the jump to All Elite Wrestling.
Harper opened up about his experience with WWE during a recent episode of Talk Is Jericho, and he noted that he pitched several ideas to Vince McMahon that weren’t used.
The former Wyatt Family also talked about what it was like to pitch ideas to Vince while he was eating, and he quickly found out that it was a lost cause.
“I have pitched many things to him when he is just like chowing down on a salad or something. Then you hand him something and he’s like, ‘I’ll look at it on the plane,’ and you’re like, he’s not gonna look at those. There were times where I was told he was done eating and it was OK to go in, and then you go in there and it’s like, nope, he’s eating again.”
He went on to say that his IC Title run was the peak of his WWE career, as Vince just wasn’t buying into any of his ideas.
“That was kind of the peak. I didn’t win a lot of matches on TV, I did a lot of DQ’s, lost a bunch of matches and it was like I lost favor almost instantly. I didn’t even get a chance to do anything with it. I pitched a bunch of different things for angles to change the character and [Vince] just wasn’t buying them.”
One way or another it seems that Lee is in for a decent push with All Elite Wrestling, as he was recently revealed to be The Exalted One, and he indicated that he has creative freedom when it comes to his promos.
