The coronavirus has had a massive impact on the economy, and many professional wrestlers are without work at the moment because so many events have been canceled.

People within the wrestling community have been trying to encourage fans to support indie wrestlers, and Evil Uno of AEW recently made a post asking fans to, “Buy their merch, support them through Patreon, share their stuff.”

The post caught the attention of Braun Strowman who responded with the following in a post that has since been deleted:

“Here we go with more of the somebody pay for my bills stuff. If you can’t afford to pay your bills maybe you should change professions. That’s why I quit strongman. I loved it but I couldn’t afford to live so instead of making a go fund me or a patreon wanting someone else to take care of me I went out and worked harder than I ever have in my life to get to where I am. What happened to being accountable for your own actions. For anyone that goes that’s easy fr you to say, you’re a WWE superstar, just an FYI 7 years ago I loved to FL (Florida) with everything I owned in a Kia Soul with $150 to my name when I started this.”

Strowman caught a lot of backlash for his comments on social media, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Strowman has friends in the company who explained the situation to him, and he regrets saying what he said.

One way or another it looks like quite a few fans will be talking about Strowman in the weeks to come, as it’s been reported that The Monster Among Men may have found himself in a big WrestleMania match. You can get more on that here.
