Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns have a pretty important match coming up at the Greatest Royal Rumble. The two will battle in a solid steel cage to determine who will get to fly home as WWE Universal Champion. But even though Roman Reigns has been earmarked to be WWE’s top guy for years now what goes down in Saudi Arabia all seems to depend on what kind of contract WWE got Lesnar to sign.

Bryan Alvarez brought up the fact that it won’t make sense if Roman Reigns wins the Universal Title at the Greatest Royal Rumble due to a multitude of reasons when Dave Meltzer discussed Lesnar’s current deal and how it might need to make sense.

“Well it only makes sense if it’s Brock’s last match,” Meltzer replied on Wrestling Observer Radio. “Brock may not have wanted to sign for two matches. You know Brock kinda got the leverage in this deal. You know everyone wants him so he can kinda — and he uses every bit of leverage that he has. So I don’t know, they may have signed a two-match deal, it may have been a one-match deal I don’t know.”

“If it was a two-match deal then yeah the thing is if he signed a two-match deal obviously he’s going to lose the title at some point. I would like to see him lose to somebody else just to give somebody a rub. I don’t care who it is.”

Meltzer went on to say that if Lesnar signed for two more matches and he was going to put someone over he would like to see it happen for someone under the age of 30. “But if [Lesnar signed] a three-match deal then he might as well win. I mean if he’s got three more matches coming up then he should win [at the Greatest Royal Rumble] but I don’t they’ve obviously kept that very quiet about what kind of deal it is.”

It would be great if the WWE Universe got to see a few more Brock Lesnar matches before he takes off back to UFC. But if Lesnar only has one more match on his deal and it’s happening in Saudi Arabia against Roman Reigns then he probably has to drop the Universal Title to the Big Dog in Jeddah.
