Brock Lesnar defeated Bill Goldberg to win the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, FL, but he hasn’t been seen on WWE programming since the Raw after WrestleMania. It’s been confirmed that Lesnar will be defending his Universal Championship at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view in July, and he’ll be returning to TV soon to build up the match.

Sunday night Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe, Bray Wyatt and Finn Balor will all compete in an Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way Match, and the winner will go on to challenge Brock Lesnar for the title.
Sportskeeda is reporting that current plans call for Samoa Joe to win the match and go on to face Brock Lesnar. Joe is then expected to lose to Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire.
Original plans for Extreme Rules called for Braun Strowman to face Roman Reigns and earn a title shot before moving on the challenge Brock Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire. Plans were after Braun Strowman had to undergo surgery to repair his elbow.
WWE claims that Braun Strowman could be out of action for up to six months, but the belief is that he’ll actually be returning in July to kick off a feud with Lesnar which will lead to a title match at SummerSlam.
