It’s official, Brock Lesnar is making his return to MMA at UFC 200 on July 9th. It was reported via MMAFighting.com that Lesnar was close to finalizing a deal and on Saturday it was confirmed. During UFC 199 it was announced that Brock will be making his return at UFC 200 and it looks like he will co-main event the show, but his opponent has yet to be announced. The main event for the show will feature Daniel Cormier facing off against Jon Jones.
WWE is saying that it’s a “one-off opportunity” and they issued the following statement in response to the announcement:
Brock Lesnar remains under contract to WWE, however, he has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at UFC 200. Following this milestone event on July 9, Brock will return to WWE for SummerSlam on Sunday, August 21, live on WWE Network.
Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com (the reporter who broke the story) noted on Twitter that he was escorted out of UFC 199 for breaking the news. He also noted that he was told he and his team are banned for life.
I was escorted out of the building by Zuffa staff before the main event. Credential taken away, too. Didn't see Bisping realize his dream.

My long-time colleagues @ekc and @allelbows were also escorted out of the building w/ me. Sorry to report no post-fight coverage tonight.

I love this sport & this job with all my heart. Did nothing unethical. I reported fight news. That's it. & then told we're banned for life.

My teammates and friends @Ekc and @allelbows are the very best at what they do. I wish they didn't have to leave with me. They did nothing.

Here's hoping cooler heads prevail. I sincerely love every fighter & fan of this sport. You have helped me realize a dream. Thank you.
