Last month John Cena returned to WWE when he interrupted Roman Reigns’ celebration after the Money in the Bank main event, and on Saturday night he challenged Roman for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam in Las Vegas.
Unfortunately for John Cena it just wasn’t his night as Roman Reigns dominated most of the match and eventually put Cena away to retain his Universal Title.
After The Tribal Chief secured the victory he celebrated in the ring, but his celebration was once again cut short when Brock Lesnar made his surprise return and confronted Reigns in the ring. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman retreated, and they walked to the back as the show went off the air.
However, the show didn’t stop after SummerSlam stopped airing as Brock Lesnar delivered two German suplexes to John Cena followed by a F5 to end the night. Video footage of the assault can be seen below.
