Braun Strowman has been a hot topic in the world of professional wrestling this week as the former Universal Champion was surprisingly released from his WWE contract. The Monster Among Men is a former Universal Champion, and during his time with the company he feuded with some of WWE’s top stars, including Brock Lesnar.
At the Royal Rumble in 2018, Brock Lesnar defended his WWE Championship against Kane and Braun Strowman in an aggressive triple threat match, and at one point it seemed like things got heated in the ring when Lesnar punched Strowman in the head.
Strowman recently spoke to talkSPORT about the stiff blow to the head, and he noted that when he and Brock got backstage they laughed about it.
“We laughed about it afterwards. It is what it is. We got to the back and I said ‘Hey, my bad,’ he said the same thing and we went about our business. We’re both grown ups, we both knew what we were getting into and at the end of the day, we’re both very dominant males and neither of us wanted to give in an inch, so in the end we took an inch from each other.”
It was reported that the recent WWE releases were due to budget cuts, and that Braun Strowman had a “monster deal” worth a lot of money. You can get more on that here.
