Braun Strowman has had a big year so far in 2020, as he defeated Goldberg to win the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36, and since then he’s been on a path of destruction.
A number of weeks ago Braun Strowman’s path of destruction led him to Raw Underground, and he recently told Sports Illustrated that he pitched the idea for his Raw Underground appearances.
“The third hour of Raw sometimes falls off with ratings, so I pitched an idea to bring ‘The Monster Among Men’ to Raw Underground. It’s so easy now to watch parts of the show on social media after it happens, but my goal is to get people to watch our live product. That’s a huge factor why I went to Raw, which is where I made a name for myself.”
WWE has since abandoned the Raw Underground concept, but the Monster Among Men did join the red brand full-time recently in the 2020 WWE Draft.
Strowman also made it clear that he currently has his sights set on the WWE Championship.
“For me, being a WWE superstar is like a candlelight, and there is much to accomplish before it burns out. So I’m bringing my absolute best to Raw. This is a big time for me, and it’s a chance for me to make a mark and win that one world title that has eluded me.”
