Kofi Kingston won the WWE Championship when he defeated Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35, and he’s been defending the title ever since.
This week Kofi Kingston made his way down to the ring on SmackDown Live, and he called out Randy Orton.
Kofi said that they have history, and he brought up their confrontation in Madison Square Garden in 2009 then said it was the night he whooped Orton’s ass all over the arena. He showed a clip of Randy getting hit with the Boom Drop through a table, then added that it was the night he should have entered the main event scene.
Kingston said Orton used his power in real life to keep him out of the main event scene, but he used the power of positivity to become WWE Champion.
Orton said he did use his influence to hold him back, but Kofi wasn’t ready back then, and he’s not ready now. Randy said he’s never had to fake a Jamaican accent, throw pancakes of shake his ass to get to the top.
Randy took credit for Kofi’s title match at Mania by saying he injured Ali prior to Mania, and Kofi took Ali’s spot.
Orton accepted Kofi’s challenge for SummerSlam, and said his fantasy is going to come to an end with an RKO.
