This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown aired live from the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas and it was the special SmackDown after WrestleMania edition of the show.
SmackDown after WrestleMania is always one of the biggest shows of the year, and Giulia put her title on the line when she defended the WWE Women’s United States Championship against Tiffany Stratton in the first match of the night.
At one point during the match Tiffany Stratton was running the ropes and Kiana James grabbed her leg while the referee wasn’t looking. Stratton pulled James up on the apron then knocked her off. She attempted to hit the Prettiest Moonsault Ever on Giulia, but Giulia managed to catch her on the way down and apply a submission hold. Stratton rolled it into a pin and Giulia kicked out at two.
The end of the match came when Tiffany Stratton connected with an Alabama Slam on Giulia then followed up with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever to win the match and become the new Women’s United States Champion. After the match Stratton celebrated with the belt as pyro went off in the background.
