This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured a big title defense as Powerhouse Hobbs put the TNT Championship on the line against Wardlow. Ahead of the match Wardlow was backstage and he said that it wasn’t too long ago that he was working with a Horseman in AEW, so he decided to call in a Horseman to even the odds tonight.
Arn Anderson then made his return then listed off all of the things that Powerhouse Hobbs has done to Wardlow. The Hall of Famer said that Tully Blanchard is a smart guy who probably taught him how to be the best checkers player in all of AEW. Anderson then said it’s time for everyone to get ready because tonight they’re going to start playing chess.

Arn Anderson accompanied Wardlow down to the ring then stood ringside to watch his back throughout the match. At one point QT Marshall got in the ring and started arguing with the referee. Arn confronted him and scared him off by pointing at him. QT tried to escape but Penta appeared on the ramp and superkicked him back into the ring as Arn hit him with a DDT.
Wardlow followed up with the Powerbomb Symphony to win the TNT Championship for the third time in his career. After the match he celebrated with Arn Anderson, but they were interrupted by Christian Cage and Luchasaurus.
