The stars of NXT stepped into the spotlight at NXT TakeOver: XXV on Saturday night, and all the gold was on the line.
Johnny Gargano defended the NXT Title against Adam Cole, but he didn’t walk out with the gold.
At one point Cole was trying to bring a chair in the ring, but the ref stopped him on the outside. Johnny Gargano went for a suicide dive on Cole, but accidentally hit the ref instead.
Adam Cole tried to hit Gargano with a chair, but missed, and Gargano superkicked it into his face, then rolled him into the ring but there was no ref to count the pin.
Gargano threw the ref into the ring, and Adam Cole distracted him by calling for The Undisputed Era. No one came but Cole took the opportunity to recover and got the upper hand as Gargano was trying to get back in the ring.
They fought back and forth, and Johnny locked Adam in the Gargano Escape, but he got out.
Adam Cole got Gargano with Panama Sunrise followed by The Last Shot to win the match.
After the match Cole celebrated with The Undisputed Era.
