Big Name Was Reportedly Considered To Replace Roman Reigns At WrestleMania 36

WrestleMania 36 aired over two nights on the WWE Network over the weekend, and on the first night Braun Strowman picked up a big win when he defeated Bill Goldberg to become the Universal Champion.

Roman Reigns was originally set to challenge Goldberg for the Universal Title, but The Big Dog pulled out of the event due to health concerns.

WWE didn’t put much effort into explaining the change on TV, as only a brief announcement was made on SmackDown the night before declaring that Braun would be facing Goldberg.

According to WrestleTalk, there was talk of Jeff Hardy replacing Roman Reigns in the match, but ultimately the spot went to Braun Strowman.

Hardy returned to the SmackDown brand a few weeks ago, but he did not compete at WrestleMania 36.
