The coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact on the professional wrestling industry, and WrestleMania 36 had to be drastically altered due to the virus.

Roman Reigns was originally set to challenge Goldberg for the Universal Championship at the event, but it was recently reported that the Big Dog pulled out of the show due to health reasons.

The former WWE Champion recently took to Instagram to make his first comments since pulling out of WrestleMania to let fans know that they don’t know the whole story.

“For me, you already know what’s going on. It’s all over the news, the dirt sheets, whatever you wanna call them, that I pulled out of WrestleMania. And it’s funny because, for years now man, years, people were like ‘Don’t show up to WrestleMania. We don’t want you in it.’ There was like a nice handful of dudes, and haters that didn’t want me there, but the moment I make a choice for me and my family, I’m a coward. I’m a sissy. A lot of different things that I am now. But you don’t know the whole story. All you know is what you think, his health and all that, but you don’t know what else is going on in my life. You don’t know if I have newborns, or family in my household, older family.”

Roman went on to encourage people to better themselves during this pandemic.

“Just take this time to better yourself. Be present, and make the most out of this, because if we can’t grow in a time like this I don’t think we have a chance man.”

WWE taped WrestleMania 36 last week, and you can get details on Roman’s replacement here, but please be warned that the post does contain spoilers.
