For months the wrestling world was talking about Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns on the road to WrestleMania, but WrestleMania 39 has come and gone and The Tribal Chief successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against The American Nightmare on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Reigns is quickly approaching 1,000 days as champion and as he prepares to make history the wrestling world is wondering who will be the next challenger to step up and attempt to dethrone The Tribal Chief.

As of this writing WWE has yet to announce who Roman Reigns’ next opponent will be, or when his next title defense will take place. With SummerSlam set to air live from Ford Field in Detroit, MI in a few months it’s safe to say that WWE will likely be looking to book a big match for Roman Reigns. There’s currently no word on who Roman will be facing, but Conor McGregor recently teased the idea of a possible clash with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion when he posted the following on Twitter:

“Summerslam I’ll pull in on the yacht. Roman and Paul out the bus.”

Conor McGregor has been teasing possible involvement with WWE for years, but so far he has yet to step into a wrestling ring. With WWE set to be acquired by Endeavor it seems that there’s never been a better time for more crossover between WWE and UFC, so we’ll have to wait and see if Conor does eventually make the jump to the world of professional wrestling.
