If there’s one thing we’ve seen over the last few months it’s that you never know when a familiar face could return to WWE. After years away from the company Rusev finally returned to WWE last month, and since then he’s been reestablishing himself.
So far Rusev has competed in one televised match since he returned to WWE when he picked up a win over Otis on the 5/5 episode of Raw. Now it seems that Rusev could be entering into a big feud in the weeks to come.
PWInsider is reporting that there’s been talk of a Rusev vs. Sheamus feud being pitched for the Monday Night Raw brand. Rusev and Sheamus certainly aren’t strangers as Rusev previously defeated Sheamus to win the United States Championship in 2014, and they also teamed up to form the League of Nations with Alberto Del Rio and Wade Barrett in 2015.
Rusev is currently scheduled to face off against Akira Tozawa in a singles match during next week’s episode of Raw. Sheamus returned to WWE programming a few weeks ago, so it will be interesting to see if the two former rivals cross paths in the near future.
Stay tuned for updates.
