money in the bank

Sunday night the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view aired live on the WWE Network, and the show featured two Money in the Bank ladder matches. The pay-per-view kicked off with the first ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, and Carmella, Natalya, Becky Lynch, Tamina and Charlotte Flair battled for the briefcase.

The women delivered, and Carmella ended up walking about with the briefcase thanks to a big assist from James Ellsworth.

Later on in the night AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin all battled for the right to brag about being Mr. Money in the Bank. The match featured a star-studded lineup, and leading up to the bout the betting odds heavily favored Baron Corbin.

Before the match kicked off, Shinsuke Nakamura was trying to make his entrance, but Baron Corbin attacked him from behind and beat him down with a TV camera. The officials then made the call to start the match without Shinsuke.

If you’ve seen a Money in the Bank ladder match before, then you probably know that they can easily be compared to a car wreck, and this one was no different.

Everyone in the match took some pretty decent bumps, and at one point AJ had the briefcase, but Dolph pulled the ladder out from under him. AJ tried to climb up the chain and unhook the briefcase, but his arms gave out.

Baron Corbin then tried to climb the ladder, and Shinsuke Nakamura’s music hit. Corbin then folded up the ladder and threw it at Shinsuke, but Nakamura slid into the ring and unleashed some serious offense on Corbin as the crowd sang his entrance music.

Nakamura cleaned house to a big pop from the crowd then placed a ladder inside the ring. AJ Styles and Shinsuke ended up facing off on opposite sides of the ladder, and they stared each other down as the crowd went wild. They placed the ladder off to the side and then went to war with each other.

After AJ took out Shinsuke, he set the ladder up and both men started to climb. They exchanged strikes at the top of the ladder as the crowd chanted for both of them. Baron Corbin then pushed the ladder over and both men fell outside of the ring.

Corbin climbed the ladder and grabbed the briefcase for win the match.
