Randy Orton has been one of the top stars in all of WWE for decades now, but’s been a while since fans have seen him on TV as The Viper has been out of action for almost a year now. Orton underwent back fusion surgery in 2022 and so far WWE has made no announcements regarding a possible return for the former champion.

Over the weekend Randy Orton was a hot topic as it was reported that The Viper was set to be in town for WrestleMania 39. He did not appear on TV during any of the WrestleMania related shows and it doesn’t look like Randy is expected to be back anytime soon.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that prior to WrestleMania the word was that Randy Orton’s back injury was nowhere close to allowing him to return to in-ring competition. Fightful Select is also reporting that there have been no creative plans for Randy Orton that they’ve heard of.

Randy Orton last competed in a WWE ring during May of 2022 when RK-Bro dropped the Raw Tag Team Titles to The Usos on SmackDown. Although it’s not known when Orton will be back his former tag team partner Matt Riddle did return on the Raw after WrestleMania. Stay tuned for more updates on Randy Orton’s return as they become available.
