It’s been an interesting day for AEW as the company officially announced that their new show Collision will launch on Saturday, June 17th. It’s been rumored for weeks now that CM Punk will be the star of Collision, but Punk has not yet been confirmed for the show. Ahead of his potential AEW return Punk had reportedly met with Chris Jericho and pushed for a match with Samoa Joe.

Fightful Select reports that during the meeting with Chris Jericho and CM Punk, Jericho brought up the possibility of Ace Steel returning to AEW. The belief was that the idea would be to show harmony with people working together and that everyone was willing to do business.

There was reportedly a meeting between CM Punk and AEW this week where it was indicated to Punk that Steel would be brought back to the company and he would be working directly with Punk. It was made clear that Steel would not be able to be at television, and Punk was not in agreement with those terms.

It has not been confirmed that the situation with Ace Steel led to CM Punk being pulled from advertising materials for Warner Bros. Discovery or that it had anything to do with WBD’s statement about Punk not being affiliated with Collision.

Originally there were plans for an AEW camera crew to film at CM Punk’s house on Wednesday, but it’s not clear if that happened. As of right now there’s no word on whether or not plans have changed for CM Punk.
