Vince McMahon returned to WWE to sell the company back in January, and since then there’s been a lot of speculation about how involved Vince would be with WWE creative. It was announced on Monday that WWE has been sold to Endeavor and Vince McMahon appeared on CNBC to talk about the sale. During the interview Vince was asked if he would be getting involved with WWE creative to which he said, “yes and no” before adding that he wouldn’t be “in the weeds.”

This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was heavily criticized among fans on social media with many people speculating that Vince McMahon might have had a big impact on the show. Following Raw it was reported that Vince McMahon was firmly in control on Monday night which has left many to wonder if he’ll be running more shows moving forward.

Fightful Select reports that WWE higher ups they spoke to on Thursday believed and hoped that Friday Night SmackDown would return to the version of the show that we’ve been seeing since Triple H took over.

It’s been reported that there were a lot of late rewrites for the Raw script this week and that changes were still being made to the show even as it aired. Vince McMahon was said to have been in the Gorilla Position throughout the show which kicked off with Triple H addressing the WWE Universe. Tonight’s episode of SmackDown is also set to open with Triple H, so it will be interesting to see what he has to say. Stay tuned for updates.
