Over the last few years WWE has been aggressively signing talent, and now it looks like the company will be aggressively trying to keep the talent that they have.

With All Elite Wrestling in the picture, there’s no telling who might try to jump ship over the next few years, and WWE definitely doesn’t want to lose Superstars to a new promotion.

Earlier this week WWE announced that Dean Ambrose will not be signing a new contract when his current deal ends in April, and it seems that the announcement had a big impact on the backstage environment at the SmackDown tapings on Tuesday.

PWInsider is reporting that WWE officials were meeting with talents who have deals that are set to expire in a year or two to discuss locking them into new deals.

WWE has been trying to lock talents into five year deals, such as the contracts that The Miz and Kevin Owens signed.

It’s being said that Dean Ambrose’s upcoming departure set this off, and a lot of talents were amazed as they watched it unfold backstage.
