Roman Reigns has been Universal Champion for over two years now and he also won the WWE Championship when he defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. However, The Tribal Chief is no longer a regular on WWE programming which means the titles aren’t consistently featured on Raw or SmackDown.
WrestleVotes is reporting that the situation with the titles is said to be “complex” according to a source. It was noted that WWE would like to go into WrestleMania season and WrestleMania 39 with two different champions, but the company also doesn’t want Roman Reigns to lose at all.
The situation w/ the world titles & Roman Reigns is “complex” according to a source. They would like to go into “Mania season” & WrestleMania itself with 2 champions, but they also don’t want Reigns losing AT ALL prior. I’m told HHH & co are open to all things creatively here.

Roman Reigns last defended his titles earlier this month when he defeated Drew McIntyre in the main event at Clash at the Castle. As of this writing Roman is not being advertised for Extreme Rules next month and it’s expected that his next title defense will take place in Saudi Arabia in November.
