Drew McIntyre has been one of the top stars in WWE for years now and he’s been consistently featured on WWE programming. PWInsider recently reported that McIntyre’s WWE contract is coming up and the two sides are not close to a new deal.
Dave Meltzer confirmed the report on Wrestling Observer Radio that Drew McIntyre’s contract is up at the end of the year and it’s being said that the two sides are far apart on money. It was also noted that a lot can change between now and the end of the year, but as of right now that’s where the situation stands.
“Drew McIntyre’s contract is gonna be up at the end of the year, and that they are far apart on money. I think Mike Johnson broke it. I checked on it and it’s correct. We’re in April, tons of stuff can happen between April and the end of the year but what he wrote, that’s completely accurate.”
Drew McIntyre will be in action at WrestleMania 39 this weekend as Gunther will be putting his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Sheamus and Drew in a triple threat match. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
