Last month AEW Collision officially debuted and the first episode drew 816,000 viewers. The ratings have been a hot topic in the wrestling community as of late because viewership declined for the second and third episode which drew 595,000 viewers and 432,000 viewers respectively.
AEW Dynamite has averaged 830-950k viewers on Wednesdays while viewership has fluctuated for AEW Rampage which typically airs on Friday nights. Fightful Select reached out to sources at AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery prior to the launch of Collision inquiring about what would be considered a success in terms of viewership for a Saturday night show.
It was noted that AEW did not respond, but sources at Warner Bros. Discovery said that they were more interested in the rankings than a specific number for viewership. Dynamite has steadily ranked highly on Wednesday nights and the same is expected of Collision on Saturdays. It’s being said that a top 5 ranking would largely be considered a success.
AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery have been in ongoing talks regarding a new media rights deal and Collision’s performance seems to be integral when it comes to AEW landing the deal.
