For years now Roman Reigns has been involved in major matches at WrestleMania, but this year The Big Dog wasn’t even on the show.
Reigns was originally set to challenge Goldberg for the Universal Title, but he pulled out of the show due to health concerns.
Roman was then replaced by Braun Strowman who went on to defeat Goldberg and win the Universal Title.
There’s been speculation that WWE higher ups were unhappy with Reigns, but apparently that’s not the case.
According to WrestleTalk, WWE higher ups, including Vince McMahon himself, were very accepting of Roman’s decision to pull out of the show, especially considering his history with leukemia.
It’s also being said that WWE doctors were closely monitoring Roman’s situation, and the decision was made to keep Braun Strowman out of any feuds incase they needed to use him.
