Backstage News On The Reaction To The Recent WWE Releases

WWE got the wrestling world talking once again this week when the company released a number of key figures from NXT including William Regal, Road Dogg and others. It was later reported that the releases were done to directly remove Triple H hires.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that some people within WWE are befuddled and angry regarding the releases, and the general consensus seems to be that WWE is not the same company it was a few years ago.

One person reportedly joked that it’s now Nick Khan’s WWE, not Vince McMahon’s company, and that also wondered what would happen if Khan fell out of favor with Vince because under his vision the company has been gutted. A lot of the long-time employees are now gone, and it’s being said that a lot of people who have migrated over are now “Nick Khan knights.”

Johnson also noted that no one he spoke to at WWE is happy about the situation. Some people are sad, some are angry, and some don’t know how to guess what could be next for the company.
