Brock Lesnar won the Universal Championship when he defeated Goldberg at WrestleMania 33 last year, and since then he’s defended the title a handful of times against names like Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman and of course Roman Reigns.
Roman Reigns failed to win the belt when he challenged Brock at WrestleMania 34, and then later at the Greatest Royal Rumble, but it appears that fans likely haven’t seen the last of this feud.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the commentators made it very clear on Raw this week that Roman Reigns will be the next person to challenge Brock for the belt instead of Braun Strowman.
Originally it seemed that Roman was set to win the title at WrestleMania 34, but WWE officials decided not to pull the trigger on a title win due to the negative reaction from the fans.
As noted, it’s believed that Brock Lesnar won’t be defending his title again until SummerSlam in August.
