You never know who might return to WWE and back in May fans saw Carlito make a special appearance at Backlash. Since then the wrestling world has been talking a lot about Carlito as it’s been reported that he signed a new contract and is expected to return to WWE.
PWInsider is reporting that originally WWE had targeted the week of 7/7 for Carlito’s return to WWE. However, Carlito was not at SmackDown last week, but he did travel to the northeast for WWE that weekend. The former Intercontinental Champion was spotted waiting for a flight from Pittsburgh which is where WWE’s medical program is located.
It looks like Carlito may have been better off not returning last week as one source noted that if he had returned during SmackDown his return “would have been lost in the wake of the Bloodline.”
An exact return date for Carlito has not been confirmed just yet, but it seems that he’s getting closer to making his way back to TV with each passing week. Stay tuned for more updates on Carlito’s WWE status as they become available.
