Over the last few months fans have seen a number former WWE Superstars return to the company including Johnny Gargano and his wife Candice LeRae.
Fightful Select reports that WWE sources indicated Gargano and LeRae maintained a good relationship with WWE during their exit from NXT and their time away from the company.
One source in WWE noted that Johnny Gargano remained on WWE’s good side while his contract was expiring and through his free agency. Gargano made it clear he wanted to return on his time frame and WWE officials were said to be good with that. NXT sources added that Gargano was incredibly professional when it came to handling his departure as he went out of his way to help talents like Austin Theory, Indi Hartwell. Gargano knew he would be taking time off a year ahead of his deal expiring and he took great pride in helping other talent on his way out.
A month prior to their WWE return Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae were reportedly talking to the major companies. Further details regarding the talks are unknown, but Impact Wrestling was not a serious consideration.
Several people in the company felt that chances of Gargano returning increased after Vince McMahon’s retirement and Triple H coming into power accelerated the return. Even prior to Triple H taking over there was reportedly interest in bringing Gargano to the main roster.
