It’s been a while since fans have seen Randy Orton appear on WWE programming as The Viper has been out of action for almost a year now. However, Orton has been a hot topic in the world of professional wrestling recently as it’s been reported that he’s in Los Angeles for WrestleMania weekend.

Even though Orton is in town for WWE events this weekend it doesn’t sound like he’ll be getting in on the action as Dave Meltzer recently reported that Orton isn’t expected to be back in the ring anytime soon because he’s dealing with back issues.

Dave Meltzer elaborated on Randy Orton’s status on Wrestling Observer Radio and noted that he was told by WWE that Randy Orton is not ready to return, and the company doesn’t want people to think that he’s ready just yet.

Randy Orton last competed inside a WWE ring in May of 2022 when RK-Bro dropped the Raw Tag Team Titles to The Usos. It was reported last year that he underwent back fusion surgery.

One way or another it’s sure to be an exciting weekend as WWE CEO Nick Khan indicated that fans should expect “a bunch of surprises” at WrestleMania this weekend. Stay tuned for updates.
