WrestleMania 39 has come and gone but anticipation heading into the event was at an all time high. Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble back in January, and he spent the following months hyping up his title match with Roman Reigns on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

The American Nightmare challenged The Tribal Chief for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship during the main event of night 2, but unfortunately for Cody it was Roman Reigns who walked out with the gold.

So far WWE has yet to announce any sort of rematch between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, but WrestleVotes recently told GiveMeSport that Reigns vs. Rhodes II is on the table for WrestleMania 40.

“I can say this. The rematch that’s at the forefront of everybody’s minds, Cody vs Roman, is very much on the table to main event in Philadelphia next year.”

With the way that Cody Rhodes lost at the Showcase of the Immortals there’s been a lot of talk that WWE might just be delaying his big moment, so it will be interesting to see if it gets delayed all the way to WrestleMania 40. Stay tuned for updates.
