Earlier this year Bobby Lashley defeated Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, and Brock got his shot at revenge when the two stars faced off in a rematch at Crown Jewel on Saturday.
Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley kicked off the show and for most of the match Bobby Lashley dominated The Beast Incarnate. However, Brock Lesnar managed to pick up the win by pinning Lashley’s shoulders to the mat while Lashley had the Hurt Lock applied to Lesnar.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the story of the match is that Lesnar got the victory even though Lashley dominated him, so now they’re one and one which leads to a natural third match.
The original plan was to do the third match at the WWE Day 1 premium live event, but that show has been canceled. With Day 1 no longer on the schedule there’s currently no word on when WWE will do the match, or if the company could move it to a show like Survivor Series or WrestleMania.
