This year’s WrestleMania main event got a lot of people talking, as it was violent, and ended with a twist that shocked a lot of people when Brock Lesnar retained the Universal Championship.
Fans had a lot of questions regarding Lesnar’s status after the event, but WWE later announced that Brock Lesnar has signed a new contract with the company.
One of the biggest things that surprised fans while watching the match was the use of blood. Fans rarely see blood on WWE programming, but Roman’s face turned into a crimson mask after Brock Lesnar busted him open on Sunday.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both Vince McMahon and Roman Reigns agreed to let Brock Lesnar throw elbows during the match so that he could bust Reigns open the hard way.
The lumps on Roman’s face seem to suggest that Reigns did indeed take real shots to the head instead of blading.
This isn’t the first time something like this happened, as fans vividly remember Randy Orton getting busted open by Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam a few years ago.
Even though Brock walked out of Mania with his title, he might not be so lucky next time he faces The Big Dog, as he’s set to defend his Universal Title against Roman Reigns in a steel cage match at the Greatest Royal Rumble on April 27.
