cm punk

After weeks of speculation and hype CM Punk finally made his return to wrestling on Friday night during AEW Rampage at the United Center. Punk has confirmed that he’s signed with AEW and he will be working for the company full time.

PWInsider reports that WWE obviously knew that CM Punk’s AEW debut was coming, and that they’ve heard from some people in the company who were dismissive of Punk’s debut even though they hadn’t seen it.

It’s also being reported that there are some people in WWE who feel that the company completely missed the boat by not getting that moment for themselves and repairing the bridge with Punk.

During his return promos Punk made references to WWE when he said that he was never going to get healthy staying in the same place that got him sick, and that he left professional wrestling on August 13, 2005, his last date with Ring of Honor.

CM Punk will face Darby Allin at the All Out pay-per-view on Sunday, September 5.
