It seems that the wrestling world is always talking about Matt Riddle, and a few months ago the former NXT star was officially called up to the main roster.
Riddle joined the SmackDown brand when he was first called up, and he recently was sent to Monday Night Raw in the 2020 WWE Draft.
It was recently reported that Vince McMahon made the decision to shorten Matt Riddle’s name to Riddle, and that Vince also pitched a more serious character for Riddle.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE officials didn’t want people to Google “Matt Riddle” and find details regarding the lawsuit against him.
The decision to officially change his name was made on 10/29.
As noted, Matt Riddle took to Twitter recently to state that he’s fine with the name change.
