Backstage Details On Velveteen Dream’s WWE Release

In recent weeks WWE has released a number of talents from the main roster and NXT, and yesterday it was reported that former NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream had been released from his contract.

Fightful Select reports that Dream had not been at many NXT TV tapings as of late, but had been present at open ring sessions. There was said to be a “growing concern” among people in the company that Dream was being positioned to help out at the classes as a coach.

It’s also being reported that around 4:45 PM on Thursday Canyon Ceman sent an email informing people in the company of Velveteen Dream’s release.

It’s believed that Velveteen Dream has a 30 day non-compete clause.

Patrick Clark signed with WWE following the 2015 season of Tough Enough. He went on to debut his Velveteen Dream character in 2017. He hasn’t competed in NXT since the December 23rd episode when he faced off against Adam Cole.
