money in the bank

Money in the Bank is shaping up to be one of WWE’s biggest shows of 2022 as the event is set to take place from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in July.

Recently WWE started airing a commercial for the event which got people talking. In the commercial Cody Rhodes seemingly teased a possible change for the Money In The Bank contract when he said, “One lucky male and female Superstar will win the chance to main event WrestleMania.”

Traditionally the Money in the Bank winner has been able to cash in their contract at any time, but Cody’s comments have led to speculation that WWE could be making a change.

Dave Meltzer addressed the comments on Wrestling Observer Radio and he noted that the line was not a mistake, but there are a number of people in WWE who should know what’s going on that don’t.

“The first time I saw that, I just thought, ‘What, wait a minute’. So I asked around, and nobody seemed to know anything, so I didn’t really worry about it. But they aired the same promo, so it’s not a mistake. They aired the promo on Raw again tonight.

“I know people there that should know that don’t know and were surprised, and I asked WWE, and the official statement was that there’s no official statement, but the ad was what the ad said.”

One way or another it’s likely that clarification will be given sooner than later as Money in the Bank will air live from Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, July 2nd.
